prospectics.com Prospectics / non-linear creations

Architecture: ASP.NET 1.1/2.0, C#, Visual Studio .NET 2003/2005, Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 (Stored Procedures, Agent), Sendmail 8.x, RHEL/Centos 5.x, Perl, SMTP, Google Adwords, Salesforce, Subversion, Team Foundation
Years: 2007-2008

Developed a large-scale .NET/C# application for nurturing and qualifying prospective leads to sales, with integration of Google Adwords and Salesforce API. This included a large tracking and reporting system which took parsed logs from a Perl script and imported data into SQL Server databases. Maintained and provided bug fixes for an existing .NET/C# email application, inMailBox, which was designed to deliver mass marketing material for opt-in newsletters and campaigns. Upgraded and repaired existing Sendmail application that was used for back-end mail delivery. This involved daily analysis and monitoring to determine problems and form solutions.

Interland

Architecture: ASP.NET 1.0/1.1, ASP 2.0/3.0, XML, IIS, SQL Server, Apache, PHP 4.0, MySQL, Visual SourceSafe, Visio
Year: 2001

Team Lead over 11 other developers that created custom web applications and tie-in e-commerce functionality for Small, Medium and Large Enterprises. While I was there, I set up a development server and testing environment, implemented Visual SourceSafe for version control and code repository, mentored the developers, held meetings to build morale and review and introduce code. Pushed the initiative to simplify re-use of web components and scripts. Introduced the SDLC and acted as an analyst by creating design/development documents before handing a project to one of the developers. We averaged 60 websites a week between 11 developers and 15 designers.

Interland was a very large web hosting company serving 150,000 concurrent clients. They have recently changed their name to Web.com.

Key developer for custom cd application and promotions systems. Also created and maintained the administration back-end and reporting for internal employees and external clients. Listed below are some of the projects that I've worked on. Reporting was very intensive with daily reports to labels, affiliates, the marketing department, A and R representatives, Soundscan, Billboard, royalty companies and any other specialized report that needed to be done. Output included everywhere from Excel, CVS, TXT, XML, HTML/ASP, and DOC. This is one of the examples of the daily mechanical reports necessary for royalties:

Custom CD Application:

wherehouse.com Affiliate Custom CDs

Architecture: ASP 2.0, IIS, SQL Server - Stored Procedures, Visual Basic
Years: 1999-2001

Solely designed and developed an enterprise application to create custom CD orders from online through various affiliate portal sites. Customers would pick from a wide selection of songs within our catalogue and pay for the CD. Once the order was stored in the SQL database, a watchdog application would process the order, verify the songs were on our terrabyte raid server and then create job files for a Microtech CD System to burn and print their custom CD instantaneously. The orders would be shipped out within 24 hours. At the time, we were the only company that was creating custom CDs over the Internet.

Promotions System:

Music Downloads and Sales

Architecture: ASP 2.0, IIS, SQL Server, Windows Media DRM, Real Audio
Years: 1999-2001

With a colleague, designed and developed the flagship Promotions System at Amplified.com. Before the system was implemented, each and every digital download that we offered through our service was painstakingly entered and copied for each of our 20-30 affiliates, the directory structure became unmanagable.

The Promotions System corrected those issues and became the only other valid enterprise model within the company. It was driven largely by SQL stored procedures and Request String parsing the virtual DNS. Dynamic content was provided and DRM's wrapped around song files on the fly depending on the affiliate. Dozens of affiliates and labels, thousands of music artists and hundreds of thousands of users benefited from the system. We were the "iTunes" two years before Apple tried their hand at it.

Alanis Morissette

Architecture: ASP 2.0, IIS, SQL Server, Windows Media DRM, Real Audio
Year: 1999

Basic promotion that I was responsible for implementing. The majority of the time, the downloads were available prior to the album's release. Sometimes the songs would be free or part of a purchase package (Pre-Order the CD and download these for free!) and sometimes they would be paid downloads. This Alanis Morissette song and the artists below are just a few examples of the Promotions System.

GoHastings.com

Architecture: ASP 2.0, IIS, SQL Server, Windows Media DRM, Real Audio
Years: 1999-2001

To supplement sales of music downloads, Amplified partnered with online retailers to provide B2B content from labels. To facilitate a smooth transition from the affiliate's website to our system, prior to XML, I would re-create their site as a template and populate our content within that template. Affiliates included: Wherehouse, CDnow, Checkout.com, Borders, Amazon.com, Hastings Entertainment, Tower Records, Tower Records Europe, UBL, Barnes & Noble, Sam Goody, Microsoft, MediaPlay, Billboard, Virgin Records and many more. These are a few examples where I was lucky enough to remember to screenshot.
